Description The objective of this  research was aimed to describe the teaching writing by using short story strategy of Eleventh grade student Class of MAN Krecek Pare. Those are including of: the teachers’ preparation in teaching writing, the implementation of teaching writing using short story strategy, evaluation used, the problem of teaching writing short story, and also the problem that faced in teaching writing by using short story strategy. This research used descriptive qualitative as a research design. The subject was 37 students of the Eleventh grade students IPA 3.  The methods used in collecting data were observation, interview, and documentation. Interview used for collecting data on the teachers’ preparation, lesson plan, the evaluation used, and the problems faced by English teacher. (1) the teachers’ preparation in teaching writing using short story in Eleventh grade Class of MAN Krecek is providing lesson plan, the last is providing attendance list; every day’s teachers activity in checking students attendance, (2)  the Implementation of teaching writing using short story strategy are available two setting arrangement, those are: the activity of teaching learning writing which involved activities are pre-activity, core-activity, and post-activity and the next is the procedures of teaching writing using short story strategy by teacher, (3) evaluation used by the teachers in teaching writing using short story strategy are daily learning evaluation: applied by giving task to students (which consist of word choice, content. (4) The problems are only two problems of teaching founding in Eleventh grade class
