The use of chemical insecticides has a negative impact and an alternative to overcome the use of vegetable insecticides from Lemongrass (Cymbopogon sp.) Which contains substances such as geraniol, methyl heptanone, terpenes, terpenes-alcohol, organic acids and especially citronellal. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of toxicity of lemongrass extract (Cymbopogon sp.) On mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae. The research design used was a randomized block design (RBD), with treatment of lemongrass extract concentrations of 750 ppm, 1000 ppm, 1500 ppm, 2000 ppm, and 5000 ppm and the number of repetitions 3 times with 15 trials. The results of the research that have been done show that the extract of lemongrass can kill the larvae of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and can be used as bio larvicide. Lemongrass extract is effective in killing mosquito larvae as seen in the percentage of larvae mortality. The contact time which is effective in killing larvae is 90 minutes with a concentration of 2000ppm which kills almost 100% of larvae. ABSTRAK Penggunaan insektisida dari bahan kimia ternyata menimbulkan dampak negatif dan alternatif menanggulangi yaitu menggunakan insektisida nabati dari Serai wangi (Cymbopogon sp.) yang mengandung zat-zat seperti geraniol, metil heptenon, terpen-terpen, terpen-alkohol, asam-asam organik dan terutama sitronelal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui untuk mengetahui tingkat toksisitas dari ekstrak serai (Cymbopogon sp.) terhadap mortalitas larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Model penelitian yang digunakan dengan berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), mulai dari pemberian ekstrak serai yaitu 750 ppm, 1000 ppm, 1500 ppm, 2000 ppm, dan 5000 ppm dan jumlah ulangan sebanyak 3 kali dengan 15 kali percobaan. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh bahwa ekstrak serai wangi mampu membunuh larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti dan dapat dijadikan biolarvasida. Ekstrak serai efektif dalam membunuh larva nyamuk terlihat pada jumlah persentase kematian larva. Waktu kontak yang efektif dalam membunuh larva adalah 90 menit dengan konsentrasi yaitu 2000ppm dapat membunuh hampir 100% larva. |
