Description Schools as formal educational institutions are required to produce graduates who have certain academic abilities, skills, attitudes and mentality, and personality. School success is a micro-measure that is based on the goals and objectives of education at the school level in line with national education goals and the extent to which that goal can be achieved in a certain period in accordance with the length of education that takes place at school.
 From the point of view of the success of the school, it is then known that an effective school refers to the extent to which the school can achieve the educational goals and objectives that have been set. In other words, the school is called effective if the school can achieve what has been planned. In this article the author tries to provide an overview of the concept of effective schools that include the understanding of effective schools, the concept of effective schools, the characteristics and characteristics of effective schools, efforts made to make schools effective and effective school leadership.
