The aim of this study is to describe the teaching translation at Kresna English Language Institute- Pare. That are including of: the teachers’ preparation (syllabus, lesson plan, and mission); the teachers’ implementation that are consists of: the material, method, and media; the teachers’ evaluation (the way how the teacher evaluates the students); and the students’ ability in translating. The subjects are: the teacher and the students who joined the translation class that consists of 23. The research were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative. The data were collected using interview, observation, and documentation. the teachers’ preparation in teaching translation at Kresna is the teacher has mission that is The students should be able to understand how to read and know the way to translate an English text, especially scientific text. The teachers’ implementation that consists of: the materials that the teacher used in teaching translation at Kresna is about the process of translatting. In the processing of translation, there are three steps. They are level 1, level 2, and level 3. Level 1 is about how to analyze the grammatical unit of the text or syntax of text or word order of the text. there are several steps. level 2 is about logical meaning , and level 3 is rewriting. The method that the teacher used in teaching translation at Kresna were teacher centered learning, problem based learning, and task based learning. The media that the tutors used at Kresna were modul, dictionary, white board and board marker. In translation evaluation the the teacher took seven days from ten day of translation programm for giving evaluation. there are three steps of teacher’s evaluation. Thay are: working group, individually, and final test. There are three components of evaluation that taken in process of translating the text based on level 1, level 2, and level 3. They are: Accuracy, The grammatical points and word equivalents, and Lexicon into classes. The students’ ability in translatting at Kresna English Language Institute- Pare is in the good category. That is 3 students or 13% of 23 the students have very good category in translating, 13 students or 57% of the students have good category and 7 students or 30% of students have failed in exam.
