Thorndike's figure is a locator that provides the development of science and the flow of further genarations who continue to be interested in following in the footsteps of his thoughts or criticize the theory developed by Thorndike from the results of his instruments. The presentation of this article starts from Thorndike's biography, thoughts, theories developed, and how the implications of Thorndike's theory on the world of education in the learning process. Finally, there will be a comparability between the theory developed by Thorndike and several learning methods in the perspective of Islamic education.One of the most popular key words from Thorndike's theory in learning theory is connectionism, namely the relationship between two things known as S-R bonds. Thorndike did a lot of experiments on animals. So, from several experiments it was born several laws in learning theory
