Description Educational environment is condition or a place enables the occurrence of a human interaction in the educational process to achieve the goal. The forms of educational environment are family, school and community. This article explores the ideal concept of the educational environment in the effort to formulate the environmental discourse that is theocentric in the Islamic educational institutions. There are three educational environments which effect the students’ development (family, school and community). School education is conducted as formal and non-formal, while family and community education is informal. Formal Islamic educational institution starts from MI, MTs, MA and Islamic university and using raw curriculum, otherwise, non-formal Islamic educational institution does not have level and raw curriculum, such as pesantren, Taman Pendidikan al-Qur’an (TPQ) and majlis ta’lim. This article also discusses three forms of Islamic educational institution, they are pesantren, madrasah and Islamic schools and it needs reciprocity and cooperation to instill and well responds from the public, the reciprocity is categorized as the influence of family toward school and public, school toward family and public and public to the family and school
