Abstrak Penyebaran wabah virus covid-19 berdampak pada seluruh aspek kehidupan masyarakat. Salah satu aspek kehidupan yang terdampak covid-19 adalah pada bidang Pendidikan anak usia dini yang semula dilakukan secara tatap muka namun sekarang dilakukan secara online atau pembelajaran dalam jaringan. Meskipun pembelajaran dilakukan secara daring, namun aspek perkembangan anak harus tetap terpenuhi, terutama pada aspek kognitif dimana anak belajar berpikir logis, mengenali konsep sebab akibat, kemampuan mengingat, dan mengenali gejala alam melalui kegiatan pembelajaran sains dengan media dan bahan alam. Artikel ini bertujuan memberikan gagasan berpikir dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif melalui pembelajaran sains. Jenis metode yang digunakan penulis adalah studi literartur non-penelitian. Studi literatur merupakan kegiatan mengumpulkan informasi melalui buku dan berbagai jurnal yang terkait dengan topik pembahasan. Informasi yang dicari terkait dengan judul yang diangkat yaitu Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kognitif Anak Usia Dini Melalui Pembelajaran Sains di Masa New Normal. Hasil telaah literature yang dilakukan penulis menemukan inovasi kegiatan pembelajaran sains diantaranya percampuran warna dengan bahan alami, percobaan pelangi dalam gelas, dan percobaan konsep tenggelam dan terapung untuk meningkatkan perkembangan kognitif di masa pandemi. Kata Kunci: perkembangan kognitif, pembelajaran sains, new normal Abstract The spread of the COVID-19 virus has an impact on all aspects of people's lives. One aspect of life affected by COVID-19 is in the field of early childhood education, which was originally conducted face-to-face but is now conducted online or online learning. Although learning is carried out online, aspects of children's development must still be fulfilled, especially in the cognitive aspect where children learn to think logically, recognize the concept of cause and effect, the ability to remember, and recognize natural phenomena through science learning activities with natural media and materials. This article aims to provide ideas for thinking in improving cognitive abilities through science learning. The type of method used by the author is a non-research literature study. Literature study is an activity to collect information through books and various journals related to the topic of discussion. The information sought is related to the title raised, namely Improving Early Childhood Cognitive Ability Through Science Learning in the New Normal Period. The results of the literature review conducted by the author found innovations in science learning activities including mixing colors with natural materials, experimenting with rainbows in glass, and experimenting with sinking and floating concepts to improve cognitive development during a pandemic.
