Description Asbâb al-wurûd, a branch of ulûm al-hadîth focusing on the causes of hadîth, is coincident with asbâb al-nuzûl in ulûm al-qurân. Realizing asbâb al-wurûd is a requirement of understanding hadîth in contextual manner. As we know that hadîth is not merely a source of Muhammad’s utterances, but also his actions, decisions, and attributes. Furthermore, in order to avoid the false hadîth and the misunderstanding of the meaning of hadîth, an understanding of asbâb al-wurûd is necessary. Most of ulama who authored some peculiar books (al-kutub) on asbâb al-wurûd are among others Imam Jalaluddin Al-Suyuthi with his outstanding work Asbâb al-Wurûd al-Hadîth aw Allamu fî Asbâb al-Hadîth.
