Description The use of appropriate methods in the learning process will create an active learning atmosphere, not only focused on teacher activities, but also on student activities. In the teaching and learning process, a teacher is expected to be able to perform their duties and functions as a teacher and be able to apply appropriate methods so as to improve student learning achievement. The formulation of the problem is “Can Science Learning Achievement with Magnetic Force Material in Grade IV Students of MI Sunan Giri, Dampit District, Malang Regency in 2020/2021 be improved through the method Problem Based Learning? This research uses classroom action research (PTK) using qualitative methods. Data were collected through (1) teacher observation sheets, (2) student observation sheets, (3) learning outcome test questions. Based on the analysis of the research data, it was found that (1) the teacher's activity in the first cycle was 67.39% (good category), and increased in the second cycle by 89.13% (very good category), (2) the student activity in the first cycle 66.30% were in (good category), and increased in cycle II by 91.30% (very good category), (3) Student learning outcomes in cycle I were 61.1% (sufficient category), and increased in cycle II amounted to 88.8% (very good category). Thus it can be concluded that the application of the method problem based learning can improve the science learning achievement of magnetic force material in fourth grade students of madrasah ibtidaiyah sunan giri, dampit district, malang regency.
Penggunaan metode yang tepat dalam proses pembelajaran akan menjadikan suasana belajar yang aktif, tidak hanya terfokus pada aktivitas guru, tetapi juga pada aktivitas siswa. Dalam proses belajar mengajar, seorang guru diharapkan mampu melakukan tugas dan fungsinya sebagai guru dan mampu menerapkan metode yang sesuai sehingga dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Rumusan masalah adalah “Apakah Prestasi Belajar IPA Materi Gaya Magnet pada Siswa kelas IV MI Sunan Giri Kecamatan Dampit Kabupaten Malang tahun 2020/2021 dapat ditingkatkan melalui metode Problem Based Learning? Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui (1) Lembar observasi guru, (2) Lembar observasi siswa, (3) Soal tes hasil belajar. Berdasarkan analisis data penelitian didapatkan bahwa (1) Aktivitas guru pada siklus I sebesar 67,39% berada pada (katagori baik), dan meningkat pada siklus II sebesar 89,13% (katagori baik sekali), (2) Aktivitas siswa pada siklus I sebesar 66,30% berada pada (katagori baik), dan meningkat pada siklus II sebesar 91,30% (katagori baik sekali), (3) Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 61,1% (katagori cukup), dan meningkat pada siklus II sebesar 88,8% (katagori baik sekali). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Penerapan Metode Problem Based Learning dapat Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar IPA Materi Gaya Magnet Pada Siswa Kelas IV Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sunan Giri Kecamatan Dampit Kabupaten Malang.
