ABSTRACT Lychee seeds are classified as recalcitrant seeds so they require special storage techniques. Recalcitrant seeds cannot be stored for long because they have a high moisture content. The purpose of storing lychee seeds is to provide planting material or preservation of plant material. This study aims to determine the seed germination and the first day of germination of lychee seeds that have been given seed storage treatment. The seed treatments given were no storage or direct sowing, seed storage treatment at 160C for 3 days and seed storage treatment at 160C for 6 days. The treatment of storing lychee seeds using an open container. The results obtained were that the treatment of lychee seeds in storage for 3 days at 160C had the same seed germination in the treatment of lychee seeds without seed storage or direct sowing, which was 75%. While the first day of germinating on lychee seed storage treatment at 160C for 6 days gave results, namely a decline in the first day of germinating for 4 days compared to the storage treatment of lychee seeds at 160C for 3 days and those that were not stored. So from the research results, lychee seeds can be stored at 160C storage for 3 days in an open container. ABSTRAK Benih leci tergolong benih rekalsitran sehingga memerlukan teknik penyimpanan khusus. Benih rekalsitran tidak dapat disimpan lama karena memiliki kandungan kadar air yang tinggi. Penyimpanan benih leci bertujuan untuk penyediaan bahan tanam atau pelestarian bahan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya berkecambah dan hari pertama berkecambah benih leci yang telah diberi perlakuan penyimpanan benih. Perlakuan benih yang diberikan yaitu perlakuan tanpa penyimpanan atau langsung tabur, perlakuan penyimpanan benih pada suhu 160C selama 3 hari dan perlakuan penyimpanan benih pada suhu 160C selama 6 hari. Perlakuan penyimpanan benih leci menggunakan wadah terbuka. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu perlakuan benih leci dalam penyimpanan selama 3 hari pada suhu 160C memiliki daya berkecambah yang sama pada perlakuan benih leci tanpa penyimpanan benih atau yang langsung ditabur, yaitu sebesar 75%. Sedangkan hari pertama berkecambah pada perlakuan penyimpanan benih leci pada suhu 160C selama 6 hari memberikan hasil yaitu kemunduran hari pertama berkecambah selama 4 hari dibandingkan perlakuan penyimpanan benih leci pada suhu 160C selama 3 hari dan yang tidak disimpan. Sehingga dari hasil penelitian, benih leci dapat disimpan pada penyimpanan 160C selama 3 hari dengan wadah terbuka. |
