Description MOOCs are expensive to build and need a lot of investment to be delivered successfully. Its fact that revenue generated by MOOCs is not sufficient to offset the costs to build and deliver the system. Under the theoretical framework constructed for Computer Mediated Communication, by documentary research, various contributions on YouTube were reviewed in order to spot the educational opportunities offered by it. YouTube allows users to upload, view, share, like and download videos. It is almost free and open access. Based on this study, YouTube is a potential alternative platform for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
