Description ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the effect of the good corporate governance mechanism which is proxied by institutional ownership on the value of the company with financial performance as an intervening variable. This research is a type of quantitative research. The population in this study are financial companies and banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2015-2017. Samples were selected using purposive sampling with the criteria of always reporting financials in a sequence. The study results show that good corporate governance, represented by a proxy for institutional ownership, has a significant positive direct effect on company value. Good corporate governance represented by proxy for institutional ownership has a significant indirect effect on company value, using financial performance as an intervening variable.
