Description This article explores the teacher beliefs and practice of teaching EFL reading inUniversity of Islam Malang. Studies of teacher beliefs and teacher practice in teaching reading have gotten much attention in the development of education since reading is as the implication of the national curriculum and the reflection of its language. To carry out this current study, the researcher used of qualitative research-case study design by using observation, interview and teacher’s document as the instrument. An experienced lecturer of English Education Department of University Islam Malang was selected in this study by using convenience sampling. The data collected from observation, interview and teacher’s document were then triangulated to have a valid result.The findings yielded that the teacher has beliefs in practice teaching reading. In terms of beliefs about the nature of reading, she believed that reading needs practice and critical thinking. Also, teaching reading is quite challenging skill than other skills in English. In brief, most of the teacher's beliefs apparently occurred in her practice. The participant succeeded to put her beliefs in teaching reading in the class.
