Description ABSTRACT: Motivation is the degree of how serious the students learn to achieve the goal. Some students will have low and high motivation in language learning. And it becomes one of the contributing factors to examine the corrrelation between motivation and achievement in language learning.This research aimed that investigating about the correlation between students’ motivation and English learning achievement at SMK Kartanegara Kediri. Based on interview an teacher in SMK Kartanegara Kediri the students on grade two didn’t have motivation of English achievement learning. This research investigated the students’ motivation. For research design, this research used correlation method. The researcher took the sample by using convenience sampling getting 30 students as a sample from the grade two of SMK Kartanegara Kediri. The procedure of this research includes some steps; distributing the questionnaire of students’ motivation, took a score from English teacher, analyzing the data by using regression formula from SPSS, testing the hypothesis and taking the conclusion from the analysis. After calculating the data by using SPSS 20, the finding of this research showed R value was .428 and the Sig. was .018. It means that. Sig. (.018) > 0.01. From the result of the calculation, it can be said the students’ motivation correlate significantly with the students’ achievement. In this research the students have enough motivation to learn English.Based on the finding of the research, the researcher hopes that the teacher can maintain the students’ motivation in learning English. Besides, the teacher in the English class should build up a comfortable atmosphere in the learning process. Key words: correlation, students’ motivation, English achievement
