Description Introduction: Leprosy is a chronic disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae (M. Leprae). Based on WHO data in 2011-2016, leprosy case in Indonesia decreased, this caused by urbanization. Urbanization factors that has role in disease incidence were population density and risen migration. Uncontrolled urbanization caused movement of leprosy population. East Java was the leprosy eradication area. Lumajang and Surabaya have different urbanization and leprosy case. This study was conducted to identify relations between urbanization with leprosy incidence and prevalence in East Java.Method: Epidemiological research used cross sectional design. Leprosy data used health profile data in Health Office East Java, Lumajang Regency and Surabaya City in Prevention and Control of Communicable Disease division and Statistic Central Organization data in population divison. Leprosy data between Lumajang and Surabaya were compared by independent t-test has p<0,05. Relation between urbanization with leprosy incidence and prevalence were categorized than used chi square tested with p<0,05.Results: In 2013 at Lumajang Regency there has been relation between risen migration with multibacillary leprosy prevalence. This cause population movement at risk to spread leprosy. While in 2013 at Surabaya City there has been relation between population density with multibacillary incidence and paucibacillary prevalence. This cause overpopulation at risk to contact with leprosy patient.Conclusion: There was relation between risen migration with multibacillary prevalence in Lumajang at 2013. There was relation between population density with multibacillary incidence and paucibacillary prevalence in Surabaya at 2013.Keywords: Leprosy, Urbanization, Incidence, Prevalence, East Java
