Description Introduction : Macroangiopathy complication still become a problem in global health. Soybean seed and ginger rhizosome are herbs which are used for therapy. Combination of soybean seed and ginger rhizomes to prevent diabetic macroangiopathy complication has never been studied. This study aims to determine effect of soybean seed, ginger rhizome, and its combination to prevent macroangiopathy diabetic complication by observing serum TNF-α levels and aortic lumen diameter of diabetic rat.Methods : This study use 12-week-old Sprague dawley male rats, which divided into normal control groups, treatment control groups and 4 treatment groups. The rats were induced by high fat-fructose diet and 25 mg/kgBW of STZ injection intraperitoneally with multiple dose. The rats were administrated orally with soybean extract 5 g/kgBW, ginger rhizome 500mg/kgBW, combination of delja 1 and delja 2. Measurements of serum TNF-α are using microplate reader with wavelenght of 450 nm, while aortic lumen diameter measurements are using trinocular microscope at 40x magnification. Data analyzed by using One Way ANOVA analysis and Least Significat Difference (p<0,05).Results : Extract of ginger rhizome, combination of delja 1 and delja 2 could decrease serum TNF-α levels with the same potency by approximately 35% (p<0,05). Extract of soyben seed, ginger rhizome, combination of delja 1 and delja 2 could inhibit the decreasing of aortic lumen diameter by consecutively 10%, 10%, 15% and 20%. Induction of high fat-fructose diet and STZ for treatment control group increased serum TNF alpha levels and decreased aortic lumen diameter.Conclusion : Extract of ginger rhizome, combination of delja 1 and delja 2 could decrease serum TNF-α levels. Extract of soyben seed, ginger rhizome, combination of delja 1 and delja 2 could inhibit the decreasing of aortic lumen diameter
