Description Introduction: Hyperlipidemia can increase risk factors of atherosclerosis so it can develop into cardiovascular disease and increase mortality. The administration of water extract from the Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk., Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack, Morus alba L. leaves and Morus alba L. rhizome (JKMB) has been used to treat hyperlipidemia. This study aims to examine the effect of the JKMB water extract on serum triglyceride and cholesterol levels in rats receiving high fat diet.Methods : This study used 30 male wistar rats aged 2 months divided into 5 groups, Negative Control Group (KN), Positive Control (KP), Dose 1 (189mg / 200gBB), Dose 2 (378mg / 200gBB) and Dose 3 (756mg) / 200gBB). KP and the treatment group were induced a high modified fat diet (DTLM) that given along with the administration of JKMB for 12 weeks. Rats were killed by anesthesia using chloroform 10% through inhalation. Serum is taken from the heart. Serum triglyceride and cholesterol levels were examined by a spectrophotometer. Statistical analysis using the SPSS application (P<0.05).Results: KD3 triglyceride levels decreased compared to KN, KP, and KD1 by 51.68%, 45.62%, and 61.48% respectively (P <0.05). Cholesterol levels in all groups were not significantly reduced compared to KN. There was a trend of increasing in KP of 23.49%, KD1 of 51.38%, and KD3 of 0.01% (P> 0.05) and a downward trend in KD2 of 5.48% (P> 0.05).Conclusion: The administration of JKMB water extract dose 3 (756mg / 200BB) can reduce triglyceride levels but can not reduce serum cholesterol levels with a high-fat modified diet due to technical errors, the presence of hemolysis serum, and less optimal doses.
