Description Background: Physical stress increases levels of free fatty acids, which stimulates the synthesis of ANGPTL4. In addition, ANGPTL4 levels are associated with increased age. So, this study aims to determine the effect of physical stress frequency and age on ANGPTL4 serum level in female wistar rat.Methods: The study was conducted by experimentally control group post-test only. The group of rats was divided into Pre-treatment Group (KPP), Negative Control Group (KN), Physical stress groups every Monday Thursday (KSK), Physical stress groups every Two Days (KDH) and Physical stress groups Every Days (KSH). The 11 week old rats was given a physical stress treatment of swimming with a duration of 5 minutes for 4 weeks. Then the rats were killed and blood samples were taken for ANGPTL4 serum levels using Rat ELISA kit.Results: Result of statistical test of the effect of age on rats (KPP and KN) did not significant effect on serum ANGPTL4 levels (p> 0.05). The statistical test results of the effect of physical stress in the Negative Control group (KN) compared to treatment group (KSK, KDH and KSH) did not show a significant difference (p> 0.05). The highest average ANGPTL4 level was found in KSK and was low in KDH and KSH significantly (p <0.05).Conclusion: Age had no effect on serum ANGPTL4 levels, physical stress frequencies that often reduce serum ANGPTL4 levels and the frequency of physical stress which slightly increases serum ANGPTL4 levels.
