Description Background:Psychosis depression disorder is a form complication within Diabetes Mellitus (DM) type 2 patient. Depression complications within are able to be measured by using BDI and HAMD questionnaire to measure the depression level suffered. This study will assess the effect of glucose control upon depression levels of type 2 DM patients.Method: The assessment of depression level by applying BDI and HAMD questionnaire within interview. The research variables were classified into 2 groups, namely positive control and negative control. Each control group of data respectively will depend on the depression level based on BDI and HAMD questionnaire. The data of depression level for each group will be analyzed by using Chi-square followed by Spearman correlation test with significance level of p < 0.05.Results: The Depression scores measured through BDI shows insignificant and unsimilar results between positive and negative control groups (p=0.11). The correlation test between glucose control and depression level through BDI shows very mild correlation value (p = 0.143). The depression values measured by using HAMD shows insignificant and unsimilar results between positive and negative control groups (p = 0.11). The correlation test between glucose control and the depression level by using HAMD shows very mild correlation value (p = 0.087).Conclusion: Glucose control has no effect on depression rates towards patients with DM type 2.Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, glucose control, depression level, BDI, HAMD
