Description Introduction: Soursop leaves water extract (SLWE) has a potential effectto improve blood lipid profile. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of soursop leaf to reduce total cholesterol and triglyceride levels in wistar rats which were induced byhigh-fat and high-fructose diet (HFFD).Method: Design of study was a post test group control only. This experiment used male wistar rats aged 8-10 weeks, weight of 175-200g divided into 5 groups named isnegative control, positive control, treatment 1 (100mg/kg B.W.), treatment 2 (200mg/kg B.W.), treatment 3 (400mg/kg B.W.)(n = 5 tails). The HFFDwas given to induce a dyslipidemic condition in all groups except negative control.The administration of SLWE with feeding tube and HFFD for 10 weeks. Serumtotal cholesterol and triglyceride levels were measured by the colorimetric method with Total Cholesterol and Triglyceride Assay Kit from the Biosystem. Data analysis used Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney for total cholesterol data and OnewayANOVAdan LSD for Triglyceride datawith a significance level of p <0.05.Results: The administrationHFFDsignificantly increased total cholesterol levels (p <0.05)compared to the negative control. The administrationSLWE at a dose of 100mg/kg B.W and 400mg/kg B.Wsignificantly increased total cholesterol levels (p <0.05)by 0,28 mg/dL and 0,34 mg/dLcompared to positive control. The HFFD and the effect of SLWE did not affect triglyceride levels.Conclusion: SLWE did not reduceserum total cholesterol levels and the serum triglyceride levels of rats induced by HFFD.
