Description Introduction: Cladophora sp. which originated from the Tamban Coastal Waters of Malang Regency allegedly have antioxidant activity. Extraction of Cladophora sp. done with solvent variation. Variations polar solvent is made to obtain the best extracts with antioxidant activity. The purpose of this study is to obtain specific antioxidant compounds from Cladophora sp. to catch free radicals.Methods: This research uses experimental methods done in vitro. xtraction of Cladophora sp.dilakukan with solvent variation. Antioxidant test using 1,1 diphenyl 2 picrilhidrazil (DPPH) method. The positive control uses ascorbic acid. The negative control uses DPPH 2000 ppm. The measurements of IC50 uses a spectrophotometer based on the DPPH test. The extracts with methanol solvent were tested by using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The data were analyzed by using One Way ANOVA with Least Significant Difference (LSD). The result will be significant if p < 0,05.The result: The yield of Cladophora sp. tested with ANOVA obtained significant value of 0.009 (p <0.05) means there are significant differences between treatments. Based on the treatment of solvent variation, the best result is extract with methanol solvent. The concentration of methanol extract was 493 ppm. IC50 value from methanol erktraction is 543,57 ppm. The test of GC-MS to the extract of Cladophora sp. with the solvent of methanol will produce five of bioactive compound, which is the tetradecanoic acid as the dominant.Conclution: Variation of solvent had impact to the extracted of Cladophora sp. In addition, Cladophora sp. has an ability to caught the radical of DPPH and on the test of GC-MS to the extract of Cladophora sp. with the solvent of methanol was showed the highest active compound of tetradecanoic acid.
