Description Introduction: Perception of Learning Environment and Intelligence Quotient (IQ) are two factors that can affect Academic Performance, but on Faculty of Medicine, University of Islamic Malang, research has not yet been carried out. This research was conducted to prove whether there is a relationship between IQ and Perception of Learning Environment (DREEM) with Student’s Academic Performance.Method: A cross-sectional study using total sampling techniques with inclusion criteria (n = 233) divided into three classes. The perception of the learning environment was measured by the Dundee Ready Educational Environment Measurement (DREEM) questionnaire, while the GPA score and IQ test score were obtained from Faculty of Medicine University of Islamic Malang. The data obtained were analyzed by the Chi-Square bivariate test (p <0.05) using SPSS16 software.Results:The respondents obtained a positive perception of the learning environment by 90%. For IQ test results, as many as 41% are students with high average IQ’s.Chi Square test found a signifficant relationship between the perception of the learning environment (DREEM) (p = 0.029) and IQ test results (p = 0.585) on academic performance. Regression logistics test found the relationship between the perception of the learning environment on academic performance is stronger.Conclusion: There is a positive relationship of perceptions of the learning environment and IQ on academic performance, and perceptions of the learning environment have a stronger relationship on academic performance than IQ.Keywords:The Dundee Ready Educational Environment Measurement (DREEM), IQ, GPA, University of Islamic Malang.
