Description In the process of learning in higher education, of course every student needs an impetus for achievement in learning, but the urge to learn must also be balanced with the attitude of learning independence. That is why this study aims to examine the relationship between learning independence and achievement motivation of students of PGMI Islamic University of Malang. The research method used is quantitative. The results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between learning independence with intrinsic motivation in the achievement of PGMI students at the Islamic University of Malang, where the correlation was 0.683 or 68.3% in the strong category. Furthermore, there is also a positive and significant correlation between learning independence with extrinsic motivation in the achievement of PGMI students of Islamic University of Malang where a correlation of 0.456 or 45.6% is indicated in the moderate or sufficient category. Keywords: Independence of Learning, Achievement Motivation of PGMI Students
