The Covid-19 pandemic which began to attack Indonesia in March 2020 caused the cessation of the education system in Indonesia. This of course can have an impact on the ongoing world of education in Indonesia because of the obstruction of meetings between teachers and students. With this problem, the government made a decision through a circular letter to carry out online learning. Basically, online learning has many benefits, such as flexible learning time and minimal costs, but in practice the application of online learning does not show the maximum in learning, especially in mathematics lessons which have long been considered a frightening specter for students.SDNSumberagung1 Plosoklaten District, Kediri Regency is one of the educational institutions that implements an online mathematics learning system using the Whatsapp application. Many factors affect the application of online learning in mathematics. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online learning in mathematics. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. The implementation of online learning in mathematics is considered ineffective because more than half of the students in the class scored above the average. The existence of this event is also based on supporting factors such as the presence of adequate cellphones, a stable signal to the level of student interest in mathematics, besides that there are inhibiting factors for online learning in mathematics, namely the lack of student interest in mathematics lessons to the lack of parental attention to studentsKata kunci: Effectiveness, Whatsapp App, Online Learning Math Lessons
