The weakness of class XI students at SMKN 5 Malang is caused by the lack of habituation done by educators so that the need for habituation in reading the Qur'an applied to cooperative learning. The fact that the lecture method tends to be one-way so that students become less active. Cooperative learning is learning that can make students active and effective in learning to read the Qur'an. Al-Qur'an reading skills need to be highlighted in the school environment because reading the Al-Qur'an is not just learning material that must be completed but is also the ability to deal with daily problems and as a charity for life after death. Assessment of students' skills in reading the Qur'an namely, recitation, makhroj and fluency. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation and assessment of Al-Qur'an reading skills in class XI students in cooperative learning strategies in SMKN 5 Malang. This research uses a qualitative approach. Retrieval of data taken by unstructured observation, unstructured interviews, documentation and sampling.
