Description This study aims to determine the problem of the role of parental education in protecting children from being dependent on social media on Jalan Jombang Gadingkasri Village. The problem faced is the number of children who have social media accounts aged 12-16 years, where at that age a child will easily receive something without a filter so that it will be dangerous if there is no role for parents to conduct supervision. The implementation of this research was carried out in several stages, namely the preparation stage, the development of research design, the conduct of research and ending with report writing. From the results of random sampling, out of 50 children there are 50 children or 100% who already have social media accounts at 12-16 years old. And even found some 8 year olds have used social media. The results of the study also show that the attitude of dependence on social media is very dangerous for children, many of the effects of being dependent on social media. Social media does provide benefits to its users, but it also has an adverse impact if it is wrong in its use
