Aim this study to analyze the High Level Thinking Skills (HOTS) of Lamongan Islamic
University students. The focus of this study consists (1) Achievement of HOTS in the Critical
Understanding Ability and (2) Achievement of HOTS in the Creative reading comprehension of
Students of the Lamongan Islamic University. This research uses quantitative descriptive. The
population in this study were all Unisla students in the 2018/2019 school year who were
arrested 5,509. From the Slovin calculation of a minimum sample, 373 students obtained this
study sample. Research data collection is done by tests. Research data analysis was performed
by calculating the average value of students who were respondents in this study. Realization
data uses the SPP application. The results of the average classifications on the HOTS rating
scale of Lamongan Islamic University students to approve the predicate of HOTS student
achievement in reading comprehension. From the analysis of the research data above, it can be
concluded as follows. The achievement of HOTS in reading critical understanding of students
was agreed to be with an average grade of 60.03. The achievement of HOTS in students'
creative reading was stated to be very low with an average grade of 40.23.
